It’s My Birthday! Tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my birthday. My husband asked me what I want and I honestly have no idea. Well, that’s not exactly true. I WANT a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps, specifically the 100mm black patent Simple Pump, size 40. I WANT that adorable white and green Dolce and Gabbana sundress that I saw last year in the window of The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas. But those are not even remotely going to happen. So, I’m thinking of what I want and floating around the internet when it hits me. I want a massage. I want a pedicure. I want a facial. I want a spa day. Truth be told, my toes need some help and this winter weather is doing nothing for my skin. But, mostly, I need a massage. In the last year my husband and I have packed up one house, moved into the tiniest little apartment, then moved again into our current home. Packing, unpacking, packing again, then unpacking again has killed my body. Not to mention being a veterinary technician and canine bodyworker isn’t a sit down in front of the computer kind of job.

I’m not complaining. I LOVE our new house. LOVE it. My job is also very rewarding and I love what I do. But it does take its toll on my body. Also, massage isn’t something a person tends to buy for themselves. Unless it’s necessary for health or medical reasons, massage is considered a luxury to many.

It can also be expensive and a bit of a pain. Finding a good therapist, leaving work early, getting a babysitter, fighting traffic, etc. are all obstacles that can be overwhelming and lead a person to just throw in the towel and forget all about it.

But if someone get’s you a gift certificate, all of the sudden, things change. You have this lovely golden ticket. A gift that cannot go to waste. Not only would it be rude, but that’s MONEY just going down the drain. It’s just not ok. Also, half the work is done for you. You don’t have to find the massage therapist or the money to pay for it. Yay! So that’s what I want, Honey, I want a gift certificate for a massage.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, gift certificates are available for Tranquil Tails Canine Massage as well. In case you were wondering. 😉

Massage for Dogs?

Welcome to Tranquil Tails Canine Massage! I can't tell you how many times I've heard from people that massage for dogs sounds odd. But as Anthony Douglas Williams said, "If they breathe, they live. If they live, they think. If they think, they feel. Just like you and...

Baking Confessions

I have a confession. I LOVE to bake. I probably follow 20 or more baking blogs, have hundreds of recipes bookmarked on my web browser, and more cookbooks than is probably sane. Come Autumn and Winter my stove and oven are working OVERTIME to keep up with all the baked...

Allergies…ugh.

Spring is just around the corner and if you're anything like me, you know before anyone else that the plants are in bloom. That’s because your nose gets runny, you start sneezing uncontrollably, you get red, itchy eyes and you’ve purchased stock in Kleenex brand...

Poison Prevention Week

The third full week in March is National Poison Prevention week. It’s a week set aside to provide education on how to prevent poisoning in both humans and pets. When I read about this, I instantly thought about a recent event in my pet’s life. The other day my mom was...

April is Heartworm Awareness Month

Next month (April) is Heartworm Awareness Month. Heartworms, heartworm prevention, heartworm testing, and heartworm treatment is a huge topic in veterinary medicine. There are a lot of different products out there, each one with a load of research and data showing how...

Pet Emergencies

As a Registered Veterinary Technician I’ve seen a lot of pet emergencies. I’ve also seen a lot of non-emergencies that the owner thought was an emergency. Either way, when our pets are injured or sick it can be scary. When does a non-emergency become an emergency?...

My Dog’s Birthday

My Weimaraner turned 3 last month. We’ve had her since she was a tiny baby. I’ve potty trained her, taken her to puppy school, and pretty much been with her every day of her life. When people have come up to me and asked to pet her they always ask her name and how old...

What’s the Deal with Coconut Oil?

I was watching the Food Network yesterday and I happened to be watching an old episode where a bunch of cooks/chefs compete to be the next star. The episode had the contestants making their take on a dish popular during a particular decade. It got me thinking, there...
